Tooth Whitening
Teeth naturally darken over time and pick up stains from certain foods, drinks and tobacco use. If the diminishing aesthetics of your smile negatively affects you self-confidence you may choose to undergo a tooth whitening procedure.
Following an initial consultation, if it is deemed an appropriate treatment option, your dentist will provide you with customised whitening trays and a kit containing a safe, scientifically-proven whitening gel and applicators for home use.
Is Tooth Whitening an Option for Every Patient?
Many people are not suitable for tooth whitening which is why we have a consultation beforehand. If you have gum disease or other dental health problems you may not be suitable, and you should also be aware that the whitening process does not change the colour of crowns, bridges, veneers or fillings and these restorations may need to be changed following tooth whitening to match the colour of your whitened natural teeth.
Please note, over-the-counter tooth whitening kits are not recommended.
